The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson book review

The last installment of Tje Remnant Chrincicles is a nonstop nail biting ride! I felt myself say a few times “Can they ever catch a break!!!!”  It seems that Lia and her Prince are just never allowed the happiness they deserve as war, family, and kingdoms get in the way over and over! I love Lia’s character and how strong she is from the beginning and keeps growing throughout the series! Her gift of knowing as a chosen frost daughter has saved herself and Rafe from the clutches of the “barbarians” of Venda but is it enough to infiltrate her homeland and reveal the traitors that lurk at home?

Lia and Rafe make it the rough their arduous journey from Venda only to encounter more turmoil within their own families and betraylesnif trusted royal council leaders. Lia must uncover the traitors within her fathers own court before they catch her. It will be her head or freeing her people from tyranny only to face the massive army of Venda without the help of her family.

It seems not only are feelings swept aside but also kingdoms for love.

Pearson will have you on the edge of your seat with the final installment! I was not overly thrilled with the ending even though Lia and Rafe find their way back to each other. I wanted more of their love story in the end. It seemed a little rushed to finish off their live story. Even with this I loved the book and the compete series! I hope you will too!

My Rating: 5Stars

Overview by Goodreads

Lia has survived Venda—but so has a great evil bent on the destruction of Morrighan. And only Lia can stop it.
With war on the horizon, Lia has no choice but to assume her role as First Daughter, as soldier—as leader. While she struggles to reach Morrighan and warn them, she finds herself at cross-purposes with Rafe and suspicious of Kaden, who has hunted her down.
In this conclusion to the Remnant Chronicles trilogy, traitors must be rooted out, sacrifices must be made, and impossible odds must be overcome as the future of every kingdom hangs in the balance.
