A Girl Named Calamity by Danielle Lori book review

What a great read! This story starts out a little weird. You are thrown into a magical world with a girl named Calamity (yup Calamity and so far she lives up to her name) who is destined to destroy her realm. Not much is explained to her as she travels with her “escort” and the only thing revealed is her escort is hiding more from her leaving her with more questions to her fate.

While you read you can’t help but feel for Calamity and want to find out her purpose and if she can save not only herself but Alyria. Lori has built a strong alluring story that by the end you want more. Leaving you on a cliffhanger that will tear your heart out until the next book comes out! Lori’s writing also mixes of pent up sexual anguish and tension in her characters leaving you as breathless as your first kiss!

I can’t wait for more from Lori and the story about a girl named Calamity! Enjoy!

My Rating: 4 Stars

Overview by Goodreads:

I was a simple farm girl living in the magical land, Alyria, where men ruled and women only existed.

Call me sheltered. Call me naive. I was probably both. I never expected to be the key to Alyria’s destruction.

The journey I was on wasn’t only one to save me. But one where I had a lot of learning to do. With men. With magic. And with myself.

But I wasn’t alone. I had an escort. One I wasn’t so sure about. But one I couldn’t afford to lose and one I wasn’t so sure I could even leave.

I had many hopes. But the most important one was that my name wouldn’t become my fate.

WARNING: This novel contains blood, violence, profanity, and some sexual content.
It does end on a cliffhanger.
