Beautiful Creatures – Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

I came upon this book on a whim it was on sale and looked interesting. Not even half way through I realized something… I had seen this before they made a movie out of it. I hate it when I see the movie first just like I don’t like buying copies of books with characters from the movie on the book. For some reason it bugs me. But I barely remember the movie luckily and the book was interesting. So I kept going and I was pleasantly enjoying to authors characters and explanation/ almost apology for Southern small towns and the people who live in them. But I really liked the magic and demons who are not quite vampires making this not your typical monster story. It is definitely a good read and I will be reading on to the other books in the series! Win!
My Rating: 3Stars
Ethan Wate has lived the same boring day over and over again all his life. Nothing changes in Gaitlin. Everybody knows everyone and all their secrets. Just how it is in a small town. Until a new girl arrives and Ethan knows she is the girl of his dreams literally. Since his mom died he has had the same dream over and over of some girl he has never seen. She is falling and he is trying to hold on to her but every morning he wakes up wet, muddy and can’t remember anything other than that and her green eyes. He knows it’s social suicide to befriend her but he can’t help the attraction and soon finds himself in a Gaitlin where once everything was familiar and everyone was friendly but now it’s dangerous and Lena’s odd and eccentric Gaitlin is what he’s been looking for. Now that he has seen it there’s no going back to normal. No going back to before without Lena because he can protect her from it all and even herself.

Virgins – Diana Gabaldon

I am in love with the whole Outlander series. Even the show on Starz. So any new scrape of Jamie and Claire I can get I will take!! This novella shows insight to Jamie before Claire and after the infamous flogging by Jack Black Randall. Seeing Jamie so young and green is great because in the series you feel he mostly takes charge and has his head on him. I can’t wait for the book nine hopefully out next year! Fingers crossed!
My Rating: 3Stars

Opposition Review – Jennifer L. Armentrout

5-opposition-150x225

I hate when a series ends! I fall into these worlds and just always want more! Alas another book hangover for me 😦  But I will say I was delightfully surprised by this series and am so glad I read them. I got another book boyfriend out of it and cookies will never be looked at the same! I also scoured the Authors website, Wattpad, and Goodreads for all of the little extras that either didn’t make it into the books or the author wrote after the fact to answer readers questions and basically get them off her back for more Daemon and Kat. I’m not complaining at all I wanted more too! Jennifer’s books are always a good choice when you want smart, funny, and sexy as all hell characters. Her books are a go to for me from now on! Enjoy!

My Ratings: 4Stars

The invading Luxen came like it was D Day on steroids. So many so fast and then it all went quiet. Daemon and his two siblings also left the night of the invasion leaving Kat and the crew to wonder what side they are on and if they even had a choice in the matter. Before the world ends as we know it (pun intended) they will need to find each other. They soon realize that the the only way to stop evil is with evil. But can they trust the Luxen’s only enemy stand with them to fight against the new invaders?

Origin Review- Jennifer L. Armentrout

4-origin-150x225

I’m a little behind in my reviews sorry it was a busy week. Babies and wedding planning will do that! Anyways I was able to escape and read Origin and it is an edge of your seat read. So much happens and is revealed in this book that you wonder how Jen fit it all in! Not only that it has another cliff hanger ending! Enjoy!

My Rating: 4Stars

Daemon will do anything to bring Kay back from Hell. But does he know what he is walking into? Walking behind enemy lines will be easy but he doesn’t know how they will be walking out. Can they put their trust in a mutated teenage mafia wannabe… they have been burned too many times but what choice do they really have? And when any thing they plan has a 99% fail rate they are going to need all the help they can get. What they weren’t expecting is starting an all out war between the Luxen and Human races. But he will set the whole world on fire to keep her safe. Damn the consequences…

Daily Lines

Sometimes there are points in books that can touch you whether it makes you mad, excited or swoon! And those times make me fall in love with the book because I can fall into the story and feel for the characters. This time it was a swoon worthy line from Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Awe if only we all had our own Deamon Black life would be good!…
“I want to marry you because I’m in love with you, Kat. I will always be in love with you. That’s not going to change today or two weeks from now. I will be just as in love with you in twenty years as I am today.” Daemon Black from Origins, Chapter 25 by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Opal – Jennifer L. Armentrout

One of the reasons I love Jennifer L. Armentrout’s books is her writing style. It’s fluid, so easily followed, I never get thrown out of the story by potholes or weird transitions even when reading her POV books. I obviously read to escape as most people who love to read do. So a book like hers always does the trick. Opal is the third book in the Lux series and it definitely has you on the edge of your seat. And a big cliff hanger at the end! No spoilers here but if you hate that don’t worry the series is complete no waiting around for the next book! Enjoy!

4stars

Kat and Deamon are finally together but there are no moments of rest for them! Daemons brother is back and is hell bent on saving the love of his life and Daemon and Kat are not going to let him do it alone. They must work together and trust in someone they know can’t be trusted. But will they all come back together is the question? Trying to be a normal couple and keeping their enemies close its all about time management. You just never know how much time you have left.
